Events

Events are faction fights on a separate event world. When staff start a run, the network announces it and Event Gateways in the wilderness open.

You need a faction to capture. Winning factions earn event tokens they can spend in the marketplace.

Live captures also show on the events page.

Quick start

  1. Join or create a faction.
  2. Wait for an event to start. Chat, your sidebar, and gateway holograms all update.
  3. Walk through an Event Gateway in the wilderness.
  4. Fight for the capture zone with your faction.
  5. After a win, check /f who for tokens and spend them at event shops.

How to join

Event Gateways sit in the wilderness. Walk into the portal when a run is live.

  • If no event is active, the hologram says so and the portal will not let you through.
  • If an event is live, the hologram shows the event name and a timer.
  • You arrive at the arena spawn.

You cannot pick the event world from a server list. Use a gateway.

Following an event

You do not have to be in the arena to see progress.

  • Your sidebar shows the event name, the timer, and who is capturing.
  • Ticket hills also show ticket counts and checkpoint marks.
  • Chat announces when a hill is controlled, contested, reset, or captured.
  • The events page shows the same live board.

King of the Hill

KOTH is the event type that runs today. Stand in the capture zone to take the hill. There are two styles.

Classic

One player holds the hill at a time.

  • Stand in the zone to start the capture timer for your faction.
  • Stay in the zone until the timer finishes to win.
  • If you leave, the timer resets. The next player still in the zone starts a new capture.
  • If an enemy knocks you out of the zone, chat names who knocked you.

Tickets

Factions race to collect tickets by holding the hill.

  • Control the zone to start a capture timer.
  • When the timer finishes, your faction gains a ticket.
  • First faction to enough tickets wins.
  • If another faction is in the zone, the hill is contested and the timer pauses.
  • If your faction leaves the zone, the hill resets.
  • Ticket hills use checkpoints. If you lose the hill, your tickets do not drop below the last checkpoint you reached.
  • When a faction scores a ticket, other factions on the board can lose tickets.

Players without a faction do not count on the hill.

Conquest

Conquest is coming next. It uses several capture points at once instead of a single hill.

  • Each point works like a KOTH zone.
  • Your faction scores by holding points around the arena.
  • Holding more points at the same time scores faster.
  • The first faction to reach the score goal wins.

Watch chat and the events page when a Conquest run is announced.

Palace

Palace is coming next. It is a staged fight through a fortress.

  • Capture zones in order, from the outer grounds to the inner palace.
  • Each stage must fall before the next one opens.
  • The faction that takes the final stage wins.

Palace is a longer, more packed fight than a single hill. Bring your faction.

Arena rules

Each arena has its own protected spots.

  • Some areas block breaking, placing, buckets, or pearls.
  • Some areas block PvP.
  • If an action is blocked, you get a chat message.

You must be in a faction to count on a capture zone.

Rewards

The winning faction earns event tokens.

  • Tokens go to the faction, not your personal wallet.
  • Check your balance with /f who.
  • Spend tokens at merchant NPCs that use event token shops.

See economy for how token shops work.

After the event

When a faction wins, the run ends.

  • The network announces the winner and the token reward.
  • Players in the arena have a short time to leave.
  • Everyone is then sent back to the wilderness, usually near the gateway they used.

The event world is taken down after that. The next run is a fresh instance.

Dying in an event

Dying during an event removes you from the arena. It does not deathban you on wilderness.

See deathbans for wilderness deathbans, and factions if you still need a team.
